Augusta, GA – Miss Meredith Catherine Tannehill and Mr. Steven Taylor Hooven were united in marriage on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Saint Paul’s Church in Augusta. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Bruce Tannehill of Evans, Georgia, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Davis Arey and Dr. and Mrs. Robert Bruce Tannehill, all of Salisbury, North Carolina. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Dwayne Hooven of Evans and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hathaway Rhodes of Washington, North Carolina, and Mr. and Mrs. Earsel Woodrow Hooven, Jr., of Kernersville, North Carolina. The groom’s father officiated at the twelve o’clock ceremony.
The groom chose his brother John Rhodes Hooven of Evans as his best man. Groomsmen were Joseph Edward Burns, Jr., of Grovetown, Georgia;
Ryne Lee Jordan of Rockwell, North Carolina; Ted Kendrick Leverett, Jr., of Martinez, Georgia; Travis Michael Ragsdale of Norcross, Georgia; Taylor Louis Johnston and Christopher Jackson Partridge, both of Evans; Brandon Owen Pollett of Guyton, Georgia; and Jacob Robert Tannehill of Houston, Texas, brother of the bride.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose her sister Kristin Arey Tannehill as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Whitney Megan Arey of Salisbury, North Carolina, cousin of the bride; Carter Ann Coyle of Greensboro, North Carolina; Katie Louise Robertson of Augusta; Andrea Kay Griffin, Rachel Anne Hadden, Laura Peyton Hooven, sister of the groom; and Kelly Segraves Tyson, all of Evans; and Lila Ashton Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia.
The Old and New Testament readings were given by Carter Ann Coyle of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Travis Michael Ragsdale of Norcross, Georgia. Greeters were Kendyl Lacey Conner and Myranda Elaine Conner, both of Grovetown.
Musicians for the ceremony were Keith Elton Shafer, organist; April Lynn Shelton, mezzo soprano; Jamison Lee Walker, tenor; Fabio Henry Mann and
Joseph Barnett Workman IV, trumpeters; and Stephen Brannon Pruitt and
Christopher Erick Vaill, trombonist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held on the parade ground at the Old Academy of Richmond County on Telfair Street followed by an evening celebration at The Marbury Center.
After a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple will make their home in Augusta.
