SATURDAY NIGHT JAMBOREE PROM
June 8, 2013
The Saturday night Jamboree held its annual Spring Prom recently at the Redmen’s Lodge in Washington. Keepers of the door Swindell Brady, Russell Jefferson and Dalton Elks kept a watchful eye outside.
Registrar Carolyn Jefferson signed in 111 clients while faithful volunteers Tillie Braddy, & Marlene Sprouse, pinned on corsages and boutonnieres with loving assistance from Joyce Carawan. Other caring volunteers included Kin and Pat Wood, Martha Siegman and Tine Woolard.
Ellwood and Marlene Sprouse, Michale Cutler and Tine Woolard transformed the Lodge into a wonderful garden earlier in the day.  The Jamboree would like to thank “Flair By Sharon “ for all Ferns she sent and decorations. Without her kindness the prom would not look so festive.
Jamboree President Marlene Sprouse led the activities, while Photographer Michael Cutler, with assistance from Kaitlyn Cutler and Tine Woolard took photographs of each client in front of a beautiful display provided. The clients will receive a 5 x 7 photo at July’s Jamboree to take home.
DJ Redmen member Kenneth Beacham played music for dancing and listening pleasure. The Jamboree would like to thank Kenneth for his generous services each month.
Martha Seigman announced and then led in singing Happy Birthday to all the June Birthday honorees
Each client received a Teddy Bear to take home that was generously donated.
Following a blessing asked by Phil Elks, members of “The Old Ford Church of Christ “ prepared and served refreshments. Those helping with serving included: Jeff and Pam Mault; Shirley Hardison; Curtis and Rebecca Rodgers; Raymond and Judy Williams; Pasty Harris; Margie Gardner; Catherine Everson; Hilda Gauteir; Joey and Doris Rogers; Jennifer, Shawn, Parker and Caroline Evans; Ray, Heather, Jacob and Austin Williams; and Dottie Cutler.
The next Jamboree will be July 13, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  All area mentally-/physically-challenged residents and all volunteers are invited to attend. For more Jamboree information, to volunteer or to make donations, please call Jamboree President Marlene Sprouse at 946-4350.
