Charlie Edward “Chuck” Godley IV, age 25, a resident of 3687 Wharton Station Road, Washington NC died Tuesday August 27, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday August 31, 2013 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington officiated by his uncle, Craig Godley.

Chuck was born in Beaufort County on October 13, 1987, son of Charlie Godley, III and Charlene Martin. He was an electrician with Washington Electrical and loved his job as an electrician. He loved to fish, shoot pool, play poker and play the guitar. Chuck started racing at the age of 13 and won several championships at the East Carolina Motor Speedway in Robersonville.

He is survived by his mother: Charlene T. Martin and husband, Wesley of Washington; his father: Charlie “Big Chuck” Edward Godley, III and wife, Lizanne of Chocowinity; his brothers: Lee Campbell and Logan Vick both of Washington; Wesley Martin, Jr. of Ft. Shaw, Sumter, S.C., John Asby of Chocowinity; his sisters: Kylee Godley and Annabeth Godley both of Chocowinity, Ashlynn Martin of Washington.

Chuck is also survived by his maternal grandparents:  Lois and Verlon Toler of Washington; paternal grandparents: Debbie Boyd of Chocowinity and Eddie Godley Jr. and wife, Esther of Grimesland; paternal great grandparents: Kathleen Godley of Washington and Eula Jones of Chocowinity. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Dee Boyd,

The family will receive friends after the service at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
