Janet D. Holdren-Bowles, age 56, of 125 S. Robin Lane in Bath, NC died Friday, March 7, 2014 at her residence. She was born on March 25, 1957 to the late Ellen Pauline Hazelwood.

All who knew Janet would say she was compassionate and understanding. She spent her days doing accounting for local businesses and watching her grandchildren grow. There was nothing she enjoyed more than her family. If you needed an ear for listening she was the one to see. Her love for nature and felines was known by all. The world has lost a genuine, caring, sincere soul and heaven gained an angel.

Surviving include her husband James “J.D.” Dale Bowles of the home in Bayview; her daughter Tracie Kay Gill of the home; two sons: Kevin Joel Hazelwood and his wife Melinda of Bath, NC and Matthew Dale Holdren of the home; one sister, Linda Felton of Arkansas; one brother, Marvin Goodsell of Arkansas; 4 grandchildren: Amanda Stewart and her husband Caleb of Raleigh, NC, Nicky McCutcheon and her husband Kevin of Washington, NC, Matthew Gill and Wyatt Gill of the home; 3 great-grandchildren Mackenzie McCutcheon, Olivia Stewart, and Camden McCutcheon. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Barry Joel Hazelwood.

Creech, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends at their home, 125 S.
