JoAnn Windisch
July 8, 1929  – July 10, 2014

Mrs. JoAnn Windisch, age 85, a resident of Washington, NC died Thursday July 10, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.

In keeping with Mrs. JoAnn’s wishes no formal memorial service will be held.

Mrs. JoAnn was born in Indianapolis, Ind., on July 8, 1929 daughter of the late Ruben and the late Gertrude Mounts Windisch.  She was a 1941 graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis and served her country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  Following her military career she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing credentials and worked in the medical field in Ft. Myers, FL.  She was a member of St. John the Apostle Community Church in Ft. Myers.

Mrs. JoAnn is survived by her caregiver: Betty Lou Fritz of Washington; a step-son: Steve Fritz and his wife Sehliah of Rockledge, FL and a step-grandson: Joshua J. Fritz of Manhattan, KS.  She was predeceased by a brother: Donald Windisch.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to be made to the Beaufort County Humane Society, P.O. Box 8, Washington, NC 27889.
