The Washington Yacht and County Club (WYCC) once again will host THE EIGHTH ANNUAL HOMES4NC Golf Tournament on September 8, 2014 at 11 AM, shotgun start. The rain date is September 22, 2014.   This major charity event for the Coastal Region of the NC Association of REALTORS® helps to fund grants and bring affordable housing to eastern NC.  Homes4NC was established to provide safe and affordable housing for all North Carolinians. To accomplish its mission, Homes4NC raises funds from REALTORS® across the state and provides matching grants to nonprofit and public agencies that help low-and moderate-income families with their housing needs. These grants match funds that have been donated by local REALTOR® associations such as the Washington-Beaufort County Board of REALTORS® (WBCBR)

Thanks to events like this tournament, WBCBR and other coastal REALTOR associations have contributed more than $90,000 to Homes4NC.  In turn, this foundation has awarded matching grants to over 57 organizations throughout North Carolina, including Washington Housing Inc.  At least six homeowners in Beaufort County have benefited from this program and were recipients of grants to purchase their homes. “This initiative has become even more important in recent years as more area residents struggle with housing issues,” says Tomp Litchfield, President of the NC Association of REALTORS®.

The event is organized by a dedicated team of volunteers in the region spearheaded by this year’s chairman, John Easterling of Coldwell Banker Coastal Rivers (CBCRR).    John and his team of volunteers from The Rich Company, Century 21 The Realty Group (Washingon) and other CBCRR associates promise a great day with goody bags, snacks, a catered BBQ dinner, trophies and of course bragging rights.  John invites you to play for the fun of it while contributing to this program which benefits our county.  “We encourage everyone in the community to join us as a sponsor or player so we can help more hardworking families and have some fun along the way.” Sponsorships are still available and team registrations are open until September 1, 2014.
