A group of young decoy carvers met at the Joan Sears Art Gallery for an autumn-painting and decoy-carving class. Class began with painting autumn scenes and ducks and was followed with a demonstration in chip carving. The class then proceeded with trying their hands at chip-carving their own decoy. Many also carved little boats. Chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles were enjoyed during refreshment time. The youngest participant was 1 1/2-year-old William Sears, assisted by his brothers Adam and Edward Sears visiting from Starkville, Miss. Young lads from Middletown and Lake Landing also participated. The fellowship was enjoyed by all.
