Bath Outdoor Movie Night a Big Hit

DEBRA TORRENCE | CONTRIBUTED BIG HIT: The BMH Library, Town of Bath, Wee Pirates Play Outside in Bath!, Bath Girl Scout Troop No. 3556 and first-mate volunteers Leon Keech, Linda Poore and Sharon Britt, along with many other helping hands, partnered to host the first Bath outdoor movie Sept. 27. More than 170 people attended the free event made possible by an Out of the Box grant awarded to the BMH Library from Redbox. Children wore colorful pirate and fairy costumes and flitted between a sea of activities and food stops for pizza from Blackbeards Slices & Ices, popcorn and snow cones sold by the Bath Lions Club and bags of treats for sale by the Bath Boy Scouts. Music provided by Bob Daw ushered in the setting sun. As night fell on the harbor town, all settled in on a beautiful evening for storytelling by Hannah Graham of the library and a Disney movie. More events are planned for fall and into the next year. Pictured are two pirate princesses who dressed for the occasion and families watching the first Bath outdoor movie together.
