Mother Lucinda G. Keener, of Shawangunk, N.Y., passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at home surrounded by family. She was 91.

The daughter of Ella Gertrude and George W. Gibbs, she was born December 11, 1923 in Belhaven, North Carolina.

Mother Keener was a retired Certified Dietitian Assistant at Doctors Hospital in Manhattan.

Mother Keener was a spiritual, hard working, dedicated, loving individual who gave all that she could and cared about everyone. She was an active member of Mt. Carmel Church Of Christ, DOC in Newburgh, NY.

Mother Keener is survived by one daughter, Haniyyah Muhammad (Linda) of Pine Bush, NY; one son, Earl Gibbs Jr. of Jersey City, NJ and one sister, Evangelist Verda Gibbs Branche of Washington, NC; three grandsons: Azim Smith of Hurricane, WV, Saeed Smith of Middletown NY, E. Lamont Gibbs and wife, Lawanda of Chesapeake, VA; two granddaughters: Yvette Anderson and husband, Terrell of Orlando, FL and Sakinah Muhammad of Santa Monica, CA; five great-granddaughters: Nequosha Noel Anderson; Paige, Drew and Kennedy Gibbs; Jaielle Litchinson; one great-great granddaughter, Isabella Grace; God son and daughter: William and Juanita Richardson. In addition Mother Keene is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by husbands: Earl Gibbs Sr. and Herbert Keener; grandson, Earl Patrick Irons; sisters: Mary Alice Griffin, Lillian Mae Gibbs, Emma Gibbs Mason; and brother, Hubert Gibbs.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. for their caring and compassionate assistance in caring for our Mother.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, April 10, 2015 at Leon Randolph Memorial Chapel, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Washington, NC. Burial will follow at the Northside Cemetery, Belhaven, NC.

The family will receive friends at Leon Randolph Funeral Home 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Washington, NC. 11:00-1:00 PM Friday April 10, 2015.
