Local educator attends NCCAT program

Elise A. Staats of Chocowinity Middle School attended a program held at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching, a recognized national leader in professional development programming for our state’s teachers.

Increasing teacher effectiveness is fundamental to improving public education. NCCAT provides teachers with new knowledge, skills, teaching methods, best practices and information to take back to their classrooms. Elise “Lisa” Staats is a sixth-grade language arts teacher and a seventh-grade math teacher. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in math education. She has taught at Chocowinity Middle for more than 15 years.
