The Beaufort County Community Orchestra will play its winter concert Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Washington. The concert begins at 4 p.m. and is free to the public.

The Beaufort County Community Orchestra, started by the late Doris Hamilton when the group accompanied the spring “Messiah” choral production, has a new wrinkle for the 2015 winter concert.

Walker and Tucker Winslow, brothers who play viola, will solo in “Concert for Two Violas” by George Teleman.

The orchestra composition is multi-age, ranging from adults to high school students and middle school students. The orchestra has been an opportunity for young artists to grow into talented musicians.

Included in the concert offerings along with the Teleman solo are pieces by Corelli and Bach, along with seasonal selections: “Dance of the Mirlitons,” “Gloucestershire Wassail,” “Cantique de Noel (O Holy Night),” “Bring a Torch Jeanette Isabella” and “Away in a Manger.”
