Washington High student receives ‘Best Entry’ prize

ARTS OF THE PAMLICO ARTISTIC ENDEAVORS: Liz Thielen receives a check from Arts of the Pamlico executive director Joey Toler for the "Best Entry by a Senior Award" for her hand-built pottery piece titled “THE KRAKEN.” Another of Liz’s pottery pieces, “Water Horse,” also placed in the show. Liz is a senior at Washington High School and Damon Walcott is her art teacher. The Student Art Show, featuring the artwork of kindergarten through 12th-grade students across Beaufort County, is on display at Arts of the Pamlico’s Turnage Theatre gallery until April 21.
