Helen R. Morris
July 11, 1933 – April 27, 2016

Helen Erle Redditt Morris, age 82, a resident of Washington, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Martin County General Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Boyd-Redditt Family Cemetery in Edward and will be officiated by Rev. Sonny Browne.

Mrs. Morris was born in Beaufort County on July 11, 1933 to the late David Earl Redditt and Helen Augusta Spruill. She was a 1955 graduate of the Rex Hospital Nursing School. On November 27, 1959 she married Harold Bryan Morris who preceded her in death on July 14, 1978. Mrs. Morris worked at the Beaufort County Health Department as a Registered Nurse for 32 years until she retired in 1995. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Chocowinity.

Survivors include a daughter Jennifer Morris, a son Bryan Morris, both of Washington, a granddaughter Holly Beth Morris, a sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Swain of Greenville and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Belle Hollowell.
