Mrs. Thelma Louise Cherry Wells, 88, of 201 Oak St., Williamston, died on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003.
A funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Roger Leggett officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Wells was born in Martin County on March 31, 1914. She was the daughter of Claude Cherry and Mae Cherry. She was married to John Wells who preceded her in death. She was the oldest active member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include five sons, Dallas S. Wells of Newport, Va., John Wells of Jamesville, Phillips Wells of Bear Grass, Claudia Wells of Nags Head and Russell Wells of Williamston; one daughter, Christine W. Silverthorne of Williamston; one sister, Bea Carson of Williamston; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at First Pentecostal Holiness Church and at other times at the home.
Arrangements are by Biggs Funeral Home, Williamston.
