Mrs. Rosa Lee King Adams Blango, 67, of 5611 Sandy Ridge Road, Washington, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Aurora, with pastor Jimmy Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at The Garden of Memories Cemetery, Blounts Creek.
Mrs. Blango was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 24, 1935. She was the daughter of Rosetta Moore Hooker and the late Hubert Hooker. She attended the Beaufort County schools. She was married to Robert Lee Adams, who preceded her in death. On May 24, 1997, she married Ashley Blango, who survives. She was a member of Deliverance Temple Church of God In Christ, Aurora where she served as a Church Mother and on the Missionary Board.
Survivors include three daughters, Rosa Mae Moore Shanks and Rosetta Michelle Ford, both of Silver Spring, Md., and Tawanda Prenell Adams Minns of Washington; six sons, Sandy Augusta McDonald and John Daniel McDonald, both of Silver Spring, Md., Willie James McDonald of Baltimore, Md., Veryon Cleonest Moore of Laurel, Md., Robert Tyrell Adams of Washington and Jeffrey Lee Adams of Vanceboro; one sister, Mertha B. Betts of Norfolk, Va.; 29 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Norris Lee Hooker.
The family will receive friends at the home and at the home of her daughter, Tawanda Minns, 206 Melissa Court, Washington.
