We commend the leaders of the Committee of 100 for winning a $410,000 Golden LEAF grant to assist with PrettlNoma's plans to set up operations in the former Lowe's building.
Sen. Marc Basnight obviously has been very helpful to the county in efforts over the past months to snare industrial prospects. However, we want to give our special congratulations to Buster Humphreys, chairman of the Committee of 100, for making good use of ties he has built over the years with the chairman of the Golden LEAF board. Many times, the "who you know" factor plays a far more valuable role in deals like this than many people realize.
