Haughton Fitz Randolph Sr., age 91, died on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, in the Poydras Home in New Orleans, La.
A memorial service was held Thursday, March 6, 2003, at the Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans, La. A graveside service will be held at the family plot in Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, N.C., at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2003, conducted by the Rev. William John Bradbury, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Members of the United States Air Force Honor Guard from Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, N.C., will render full military honors at the gravesite.
The family will greet friends during a reception in Gardner Hall at St. Peter's Church from 12 o'clock noon until 12:45 prior to going in procession to Oakdale Cemetery for the burial service. Those wishing to send memorials in lieu of flowers are asked to consider the St. Peter's Episcopal Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 985, Washington, NC 27889.
Mr. Randolph was a retired vice president of sales for the Ohio River Co. He was a native of Washington, N.C., and had lived in New Orleans for the past 40 years. He graduated from the Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Va., and attended Tulane University. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force and a member of Trinity Church in New Orleans, La.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hughes Randolph, who is a native of Belhaven, and who now resides in New Orleans, La.; one daughter, Anne von Kuhn of Mountain Brook, Ala.; three sons: Christopher F. Randolph and Haughton F. Randolph, both of Oyster Bay, N.Y., and Francis F. Randolph of Longview, Wash.; and nine grandchildren.
