Mr. James Stephen "Bush Man" Andrews, age 48, a resident of 5816 Clarks Neck Road, Washington, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at the Riverview Baptist Church, Clarks Neck Road, Washington, with the Rev. Kenneth Pritchard officiating.
Mr. Andrews was born in Beaufort County, March 23, 1955. He was the son of Doris Mason Andrews and the late Guy C. Andrews Jr. Mr. Andrews was a truck driver for several trucking companies around Washington, known by many truckers as "Bush Man." He was a member of the Washington Moose Lodge and attended the Washington Assembly of God.
In September 1999, Mr. Andrews married the former Deborah Bunn, who survives.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Bunn Andrews, of the home; his mother, Doris Mason Andrews of Washington; his sister, Debbie Sue Evans of Washington; his stepdaughter, Heather Dowd of Smithfield, Va.; his loyal companion, Buggar Man; two nieces, Stephanie Jackson and Susan "Nunk" Bell, both of Washington; one nephew-in-law, Steven Bell of Washington; one grandnephew, Shayne Asby of Washington; and his mother-in-law, Sally Holland and her husband, Ron, of Smithfield, Va.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at the church and at other times at the home, 5816 Clarks Neck Road, Washington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oncology Department, Beaufort County Hospital, 628 E. 12th St., Washington, NC 27889.
