Mrs. Addie Louise Cobb Gill, 72, of 420 W. Ninth St., Washington, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Triumph Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. C.B. Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
Mrs. Gill was born in Beaufort County on April 14, 1934. She was the daughter of James Cobb and the late Helen Ruth Telfair. She attended the Beaufort County schools. She was married to Clarence T. Gill, who preceded her in death. For several years she lived in New York, where she was employed with the New York State Hospital as a therapist aide prior to retirement. She was a member of Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the senior usher board.
Survivors include two sons, Clarence T. Gill Jr. and Shawn J. Gill, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three daughters, Rhoda C. Gill Pierce, Vivian E. Gill and Fern Y. Gill, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Inzoria K. Bowe, Osceolia Craddock, Brenda C. Lewis and Liza Studizant, all of Norfolk, Va.; and two brothers, Howard E. Maulsby of Washington and Willie L. Smith of Norfolk, Va.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Triumph Missionary Baptist Church and other times at the home.
