Mrs. Martha White Thomasson, 75, of 251 Brittany Place, Washington, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, S.C.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Mt. Hebron Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Washington, with Elder Gregory Boston officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
Mrs. Thomasson was born in Beaufort County on Aug. 6, 1931. She was the daughter of the late George and Annie Jones White. She attended P.S. Jones High School, Washington. She was married to George Wylie Thomasson, who preceded her in death. She retired as a data entry clerk with Standard Motors Products, New York. She was a member of Mt. Hebron Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Washington, where she served on the beautification committee, pastor’s aide, kitchen committee and sick committee.
Survivors include five daughters, Barbara A. White, Vondia White and Jetaun V. Thomasson, all of Washington, Jackie Starkie of Chocowinity, and Carol Blount of Williamston; three sons, James N. White and Jeffery White, both of Washington, and George H. White of Newport News, Va.; 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington, and other times at the home of her son, Jeffery White, 1645 Highland Drive, Washington.
