Mrs. Nola Barmer Jernigan, 95, a resident of Guardian Care Nursing Home, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Elm Grove Baptist Church, Windsor, with the Rev. Preston Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor.
Mrs. Jernigan was born in Bertie County on June 15, 1911. She was the daughter of the late Wiley and Patty Rawls Barmer. She was married to Zory Jernigan, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church, Windsor.
Survivors include two sons, Floyd Barmer of Windsor, and McCoy Barmer of Ahoskie; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, Windsor.
