Mr. Theodore James “Ted” Klapperich, 57, of 110 Spinnaker Run Road, the Dowry Creek community, Belhaven, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Klapperich was born in Conde, S.D., on Aug. 9, 1949. He was the son of the late James Joseph Klapperich and Dorothy Mae Grimes Klapperich. He was a 1968 graduate of Dexter High School in Dexter, Mich. On Aug. 7, 197 0, he married the former Mary Louise Salow, who survives. He moved from Michigan to the Belhaven area in December 1998. He was the owner/operator of Dowry Creek Marina.
Survivors include one son, Aaron Klapperich of Belhaven; one daughter, Brandi N. Klapperich of Chelsea, Mich.; one brother, Paul Klapperich of Pinckney, Mich.; and one sister, Veronica Klapperich of Dexter, Mich.
He was preceded in death by one son, Bryan Anthony Klapperich in 1975 and one brother, Dale Klapperich.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, Region Five, 3901 Computer Drive, Suite 110, Raleigh, NC 27609.
