Mrs. Rachel Hollis Barnes, 58, of Fayetteville and formerly of Plymouth, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Plymouth, with the Revs. Al Marcuson and Buster Long officiating.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Martin County on Aug. 12, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Daisy Bullock Hollis. She was married to Edward P. Barnes, who survives. She was a manufacturing representative.
Survivors include three daughters, Becky Long and Angel Ayers, both of Jamesville, and Michele Sawyer of Plymouth; three sisters, Brenda Boyd of Greenville, Janice Alonzo of Roper, and Patricia Hufton of Elizabeth City; one brother, David Hollis of Kentucky; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Pam Sawyer and one sister, Betty Lou Smith.
Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell.
