Mrs. Carol Dixon Tyson, age 66, a resident of 1507 Dixon Road, Chocowinity, died Friday, January 26, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2007, from the chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, conducted by the Rev. Owen Arthur Jr. and the Rev. Jesse Crisp. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Russell Tyson, Mike Beacham, Earl Tyson, Doug Oakley, Richard Potter, Randy Tyson and Bobby Perry.
Mrs. Tyson was born in Beaufort County on July 17, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd Odell Dixon and Reba Warren Dixon. Mrs. Tyson was a retired quality control inspector with Singer Furniture in Chocowinity.
Mrs. Tyson was a very active member of the Memorial Free Will Baptist Church. She served as the Young Adult Sunday School Class teacher for several years and was currently the assistant teacher. Mrs. Tyson was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the church and the Christian Education Council.
On June 6, 1959, Mrs. Tyson married Herman Webster Tyson, who survives.
Surviving with her husband are her daughter, Brenda Hill and husband Mike of Chocowinity; her son, Lloyd Tyson of Chocowinity; two grandsons, Michael Tyson and his wife, Christina, of Greenville, Kevin Hill of Chocowinity; and her sister, Lynette Beeman and her husband, Loren, of Chocowinity.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2007, at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, and other times at the home.
