Mr. W. James Model, 86, of 200 Santree Drive, Williamston, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at Martin General Hospital, Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Matson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Model was born in Norfolk, Va., on Jan. 8, 1921. He was the son of the late Walter F. and Elizabeth D. Darden Model. On Oct. 19, 1946, he married Elsie Jackson Model, who survives. He retired as a manufacturer’s representative for display companies. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Elizabeth City.
Survivors include one sister, Barbara Roth of Cold Spring, Ky., and one brother, William A. Model of Virginia Beach, Va.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service Saturday at Biggs Chapel and other times at the home.
