Mrs. Mabel Carson Davenport, 86, of Bethel, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Martin Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Raymond Whitehurst officiating.
Mrs. Davenport was born in Pitt County on June 14, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Charles Durwood and Minnie Bowers Carson. She was married to Joseph F. Davenport, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one brother, James Alton Carson, of Robersonville.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Clancey Carson, Coy Lee Carson, Merlin Carson, Johnnie Carson, Bert L. Carson, Francis J. Carson and O. Carson.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Walker’s Ayers Chapel in Bethel.
