Mrs. Barbara Sykes Hinson, 58, of Zebulon, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at Wake Medical Center.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Columbia, with Bishop Calvin Sykes officiating. Burial will follow in Sykes family cemetery.
Mrs. Hinson was born in Tyrrell County on Feb. 17, 1948. She was married to Houston Hinson Sr., who survives. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Houston Hinson Jr. of Greenville; one daughter, Alesha Hinson of Zebulon; three brothers, Lonnie R. Sykes of Columbia, and Eric Sykes and D. Lorenza Sykes, both of New Jersey; and three sisters, Joyce Sykes Fitch and Linda Sykes, both of New Jersey, and J. Darlene Sykes Ross of Pennsylvania.
