Mr. Dallas Gray Holliday, 86, of Jamesville, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at Martin General Hospital, Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Jamesville Christian Church with the Rev. Doug Stokes and Ernie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery.
Mr. Holliday was born in Martin County on Sept. 15, 1920. He was the son of the late William Waldo Holliday and Pattie Holliday. He was an Army veteran of World War II. On Dec. 18, 1953, he married Clem Ola “Poston” Holliday, who survives. He retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1982 after 32 years of service in maintenance. He was a town commissioner for 10 years and worked as a sheriff’s deputy for a number of years. He was a member of Jamesville Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Holliday and Lois Ward, both of Williamston; two sons, Tim Holliday of Winterville, and Jim Holliday of Williamston; his twin brother, Dennis Holliday of Kingman, Kansas; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Holliday, Samuel Holliday and James Holliday.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
