Mr. Walter “Jack” Jackson Burden Jr., 82, of 206 West Gray Street, Windsor, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Cashie Baptist Church with Dr. Carroll Tarkington officiating. A private burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Mr Burden was born in Bertie County on February 4, 1925 to the late Annie Gray Stokes and Walter J. Burden Sr. He was a member of Cashie Baptist Church and charter member of the N.C. Accounting Society. He was the owner of J.W. Burden Jr. Accounting and a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Nonie Melson Burden of Windsor; a daughter, Carol B. Lee of Blowing Rock; a son, Gary Burden of Clayton; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and at other times from their home.
