Mr. George Henry Mills Sr., 72, formerly of 4195 Hudson Crossroads Road, Greenville, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home, Washington.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in All Saints Episcopal Church-Sharon Chapel cemetery in Alexandria, Va., with the Rev. Timothy Mills officiating.
Mr. Mills was born in Fairfax, Va., on April 15, 1934. He was the son of the late Arthur Williams Mills and Margery Carr Wright Mills. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He later worked until his retirement with the Metro Washington D.C. Transit Authority as a bus mechanic.
Survivors include two sons, George H. Mills Jr. of Greenville, and Donnie Schmitt of Springfield, Ill.; four daughters, Debbie Kuhn of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico; Carol Wilson of Quantico, Va.; Robin Rhodes of Stafford, Va., and Georgia Wright of Springfield, Ill.; one brother, Vernon Mills of Westmoreland County, Virginia; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Washington.
