Mr. Joseph Lee “Frosty Man” Cherry, 77, of 3140 Bailey Road, Williamston, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home with the Revs. Donald Jones and Gary Jones and Allen Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cherry was born in Martin County on Sept. 10, 1929. He was the son of the late John and Betty Irene Anderson Cherry. He retired from the U.S. Air Force. On May 7, 1951, he married Doris Stalls Cherry, who preceded him in death December 1999. He was a self-employed “Frosty Man.”
Survivors include two sons, Victor Cherry and Curtis Cherry, both of Williamston; one daughter, Jo Ann Snyder of Youngsville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
