Mrs. Bertha Lee Spencer Davis Longs, 70, of 1798 Scarborough Road, Greenville, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Antioch Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Pantego, with the Rev. Fred Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Broad Creek Cemetery, Pantego.
Mrs. Longs was born in Beaufort County on July 21, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Erma Lee Davis Spencer. She graduated from Beaufort County High School, Pantego. She was married to James Curtis Longs, who preceded her in death. She was employed as a domestic technician in private homes and was also a craft and home designer. She was a former member of Morning Star Disciples of Christ Church, Old Field community, Pantego. She later became a member of Full Gospel Temple Church of Christ, Pantego, where she served as a missionary, fund raiser for foreign missions and domestic technician.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Louise D. Davender of Mt. Pocono, Pa., and Lynette Spencer-Key and Bonita Longs, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sons, Walter Lee Spencer of Greenville, and Charles Longs of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one sister, Hattie Bannister of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one brother, John Davis of Long Island, N.Y.; three goddaughters, Carla Simpkins and Sandra Spruill, both of Belhaven, and Denise Simpkins of Durham; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
