Mrs. Nora Myers Phelps, 74, of Roper died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Chapel Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow in the Jerusalem Church cemetery.
Mrs. Phelps was born in Washington County on April 4, 1932. She was a restaurant cook. She married Ellis Phelps of Roper, who survives.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Rhines and Rosa Rhines, both of Creswell; three sons, James Rhines and George Rhines, both of Roper, and Isaiah Rhines of Virginia; three stepsons, Joseph Phelps, Willie Phelps and Elvis Phelps, all of Roper; five sisters, Mercidia Palin and Violet Spencer, both of Creswell, Marion Leigh of New Bern and Nellie Nixon and Elsie Brickhouse of New York; four brothers, Norman Myers of Creswell, Wilson Myers of Roper, Johnny Myers of Connecticut and Artis Myers of New York; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Rowsom Funeral Home of Columbia.
