Mr. Allen Fred Alexander Jr., 75, of Raleigh, died Friday, March 9, 2007, at Oaks of Carolina Assisted Living, Raleigh.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church of Cary. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield.
Mr. Alexander was an Army veteran, having served with the 1st Army Band. He was a 1953 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was married to Frances Jane Midyette Alexander, who preceded him in death. He retired from Progress Energy after 33 years of service. He was active with the Dunn Lion’s Club. He was currently a member of First United Methodist Church of Cary. Previously, he was a member of Divine Street United Methodist for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Betsy Stephenson of Cary, and Jane Mullahey of Pace, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, Raleigh.
