Mrs. Eloise Gautier Hodges Stallings, age 82, a resident of 2675 Goddard Road, Washington went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday morning, March 19, 2007.
Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Tice Cemetery in the Farm Life Community, officiated by Dolan Baker.
Thomas Bundy, Robb Griffin, Tom Mizelle, Bailey Ward, Jon Griffin and Kim Griffin will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lindsey Lilley and Larry Ward.
Mrs. Stallings was born in Beaufort County on July 21, 1924, to the late McDonald and Bell Williams Gautier. She was later adopted by Willie A. and Mary Bettie Hodges. She grew up in the Farm Life Community and was a 1941 graduate of Farm Life School. Mrs. Stallings was a homemaker, loved yard work and her tractor. On February 18, 1943, she married Linwood “Carlyle” Stallings who preceded her in death on March 20, 2004. She was a member of Old Ford Church of Christ.
Mrs. Stallings is survived by her sister: Bernice Gautier Griffin of Williamston; her sister-in-law: Helen Gautier of Washington; her nieces and nephews: Jane Carraway Lawrence, Harry Gautier, Jr., Laurie Gautier Moore, Ann Gautier Elrod, MacDonald Gautier, III and Freddie Griffin and her special friends: Kim Griffin, Marjorie Stalls and Tom Mizelle. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Harry Gautier, Sr. and M.C. Gautier and her sisters: Elsie Martin Gautier and Arah Bell Carraway.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington.
