Mr. Roswell A. Foreman

Mr. Roswell Arondell Foreman, age 88, a resident of 629 Foreman Lane, Belhaven died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at his home.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007 at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by Pastor John Langley and Rev. Dwight Boyd.
Mr. Foreman was born in Sidney, N.C. on August 13, 1918. He was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Foreman and Addie Snow Foreman. Mr. Foreman was a farmer, cotton mill worker and worked on the railroad. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee during World War II. After the service, Mr. Foreman built houses and later became a barber. At the time of his death, he had worked as a barber for over 64 years. Mr. Foreman loved Pungo Creek and developed Foreman Lane. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Washington.
Mr. Foreman was married to the former Katherine McClees, who preceded him in death, March 13, 2006.
Survivors include his daughter, Anne Foreman of Belhaven; his granddaughter, Kate Webb and her husband, Jody of Belhaven; a grandson, Jeremy Foreman of Washington; three great grandchildren, Elizabeth Harris, Kennedy Webb, Zane Foreman; a brother, William Harold “Bill” Foreman of Norfolk, VA; and a sister, Gladys Minach of Norfolk, VA.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Foreman was preceded in death by a son, Phil Foreman; a brother, Grover Cleveland “G.C” Foreman, Jr.; and three sisters, Irene Hardee, Blanch Paul, and Frankie May Clark.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home, Belhaven and other times at the home of his granddaughter, Kate Webb, 631 Foreman Lane, Belhaven.
