Pastor George Edd Bond of 6207 Clark’s Neck Road, Washington, died Thursday, March 29, 2007.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. John Church of Christ with Pastor Deborah Paul officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pastor Bond was born April 19, 1943, the son of the late Clemon and Josephine B. Bond. He attended P.S. Jones High School. He was married to Belinda Grimes Bond, who survives. He was the associate pastor of New Hope Worship Center, Washington.
Survivors include four daughters, Shirl Bond of Bronx, N.Y., Kimberly Burgess of Manhattan, N.Y., Candy Grimes of Washington and Sham Redmond of Greenville; three sons, George Bond Jr. and Charles Dudley Jr., both of Washington, and Darren Burgess of Greenville; three sisters, Lena Smallwood, Annie Reddick and Shirley Simmons of Washington; two brothers, Benjamin Bond of Chocowinity and William Bond of Hudson, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mark A. Burgess; two sisters, Laura M. Whitaker and Esther B. Rodgers and one brother, Clemon Bond Jr.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington, and other times at the home.
