Mr. Robert R. Bond Sr., 76, of 333 Pearl St., New York, N.Y., and 315 W. Fourth St., Plymouth, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Beth Israel Hospital, New York.
A funeral will be conducted today at 1 p.m. in New Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Harry White officiating. Burial will follow in Toodle’s Cemetery.
Mr. Bond was born in Washington County on Jan. 30, 1931. He was the son of the late Alexander and Victoria Johnson Bond. He was a Marine Corps veteran. He was married to Shirley Cotton Bond, who survives. He was a member of Carthagenia Lodge No. 38 and Chowan Country Club. He was a member of New Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Alex Bond of Portsmouth, Va., and Robert R. Bond Jr. of New York; two daughters, Cassandra Bond and Pamela Simpson, both of New York; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The body will be placed in the church one prior to the service.
Services in New York were provided by Vanella’s Funeral Chapel. Local arrangements are by Toodle’s Funeral Home, Plymouth.
