Mr. Carlos R. Berry Jr., 89, of Chesapeake, Va., died Sunday, April 15, 2007.
A funeral service with Masonic rites will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, Portsmouth, Va., with pastors Keith Lewis and Bill Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Berry was born in Swan Quarter and had lived in Virginia for more than 65 years. He was married to Elizabeth Berry, who preceded him in death. He later married Joyce D. Berry, who survives. He was employed at Norfolk Naval Shipyard for more than 38 years and retired from Combat Systems. He was a Mason for more than 63 years. He was a member of West Park Church of Christ, Portsmouth, Va.
Survivors include one daughter, Helen B. Calvert; one son, C. Randolph “Randy” Berry III; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Leonoa Lupton of Havelock and one brother, Richard Berry of Havelock.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home, Portsmouth, Va.
