Mrs. Linda Coburn Harris, 61, of 2842 Camp Leach Road, Washington, N.C., died Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at the home of her sister, Velvet Avery.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 20, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Williamston.
Mrs. Harris was born in Martin County on Sept 16, 1945, daughter of the late Joseph and Katie Coburn. She attended the Robersonville schools. She was a homemaker, a lover of flowers, animals and children. She took pleasure in the simple things of life. She was married to Jack Alexander Harris in March 1962. She was a member of Athens Chapel Church of Christ in Bath, and was a former member of Sweet Home Church of Christ, Bear Grass.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Vallejo: brother, Jerry G. Coburn, and an infant brother; and fiance, Donald Weatherington, of Grifton.
She is survived by: daughter, Belinda Joyce Harris of Washington; sisters, Peggy Butler and her husband, David, of Barling, AR; Janie Hauser of Lake Tahoe, NV; Susan Solida and her husband, Phil, of Atlanta, GA; Enid Roberson and her husband, Robby, of Washington, NC; Katie Wingate and her husband, Mel, of Mesa, AZ; Mary Kovach and her husband, Tom, of Spotsylvania, VA; Velvet Avery of Washington, NC; Numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Greenville and at other times will be at the home of her sister, Velvet.
