Joseph Soltz, 81, of Kill Devil Hills, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Sentara Nursing Home at Barco.
Born in Newport News, Va. on August 1, 1925, he was the son of the late Solomon and Esther Gerrick Soltz. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and during his working years with Fine’s Men Shops where he became salesman in 1941, later served as store manager and in 1976 became Distribution Center Operation manager in Norfolk and retired after 40 years of service. He was an avid Washington Red Skins fan.
A funeral service will be held at the graveside at 11 a.m. Sunday at Soule Cemetery in Swan Quarter, N.C. Steve Bryan, Lay Speaker will officiate.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Sandra Swindell Soltz; a son, L. Todd Spencer and his wife, Rae of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Laurie Ann Wright of Laguna Niguel, California; a granddaughter, Sandi Wright; a brother, Sidney Soltz of Virginia Beach, Va.
