Mrs. Lorena H. Gaskins, 80, of 925 Piney Neck Road, Vanceboro, died Monday, April 23, 2007, at Craven Regional Medical Center, New Bern.
A funeral will be conducted today at noon in St. James Disciples of Christ Church with Elder Donald Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Gaskins family cemetery, Vanceboro.
Mrs. Gaskins was an active member of Craven County Senior Services. She was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Mitchellville, Md. She was a member of St. James Disciples of Christ Church, where she was the former president of the Mother board and usher board.
Survivors include one daughter, Anne Gaskins Nedd of Brandywine, Md.; one son, Cleveland Gaskins of Vanceboro; two sisters, Rosa B. White of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Lillie Spencer of Baltimore, Md.; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 11 a.m. to noon at St. James Disciples of Christ Church.
Arrangements are by Tri-County Funeral Service Professionals Inc., Ayden.
