Mrs. Anita Lavern Ashe Creecy, 44, of 3615 Thornwood Drive, Durham, died Monday, April 23, 2007, at home.
A funeral will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Creswell, with the Rev. Floyd Creecy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Creecy, dauther of the late Marie Ashe, was born in Washington County on April 21, 1963. She was married to Anthony C. Creecy Sr. of Durham, who survives. She had been employed as a teacher with the Durham County Schools.
Survivors include one son, Anthony C. Creecy Jr. of Durham; one daughter, Jeskell M. Creecy of Durham; one sister, Joyce Ashe of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; and four brothers, Carl E. Ashe of Kingston, N.Y., Ricky Ashe and Wade Ashe, both of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Carnie Ashe of New York.
