Mrs. Christine Harris Wirkkala, 68, of Claremont, N.H., died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Wirkkala was born in Pitt County on Aug. 23, 1938. She was the daughter of the late William Henry Harris and Irene Mozingo Harris. On Oct. 5, 1956, she married Aarni Wirkkala Sr., who survives. She was employed as an operator at National Spinning in Washington for many years and after moving to New Hampshire continued in the same profession.
Survivors include four daughters, Glenda Batense, Georgia West and Barbara Cannistraci, all of Claremont, N.H., and Debora Dami of Gillmanton, N.H.; two sons, Aarni Wirkkala Jr. and Alan Wirkkala both of Clairmont; one sister, Geraldine Nelson of Washington; one brother, Alton Ray Harris Sr. of Pinetown; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey Wayne Harris and William Earl Harris.
