Mr. David Clifton Roberson, Sr., age 79 a resident of 107 Oak Drive, Washington, NC died Friday May 11, 2007 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A graveside funeral will be held 2 p.m. Sunday May 13, 2007 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Dr. Jimmy Moore. Pallbearers will be Milt Bennett, Mitch Datson, Cliff Curtis, Cliff Toler, Charlie Belote, Bobby Parker, Francis Jump, Billy Worsley, Curley Smith and George A Roberson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Kiwanis Club and the Timberlake Sunday School Class.
Mr. Roberson was born in Martin County on September 30, 1927 son of the late Ruben Leo Roberson, Sr. and the late Lou Allie Reddick Roberson. He was a 1944 graduate of Williamston High School and attended Wake Forest University. He married the former June Gardner on September 17, 1950 who survives. Mr. Roberson was the owner/operator of Washington Tire Company until his retirement. He was a member of the Washington Kiwanis Club, an avid J C Club member, a member of the Washington Yacht and Country Club, a member of First Baptist Church of Washington and a member of his church Timberlake Sunday School class.
Survivors include Mr. Roberson’s wife of 56 years: June of the home; two sons: David C. Roberson, Jr. and his wife Ann of Washington and Alan Ross Roberson of Greenville; a brother: Russell Leo Roberson of Leesburg, FL; a sister: Nancy Curtis of Williamston and a grandson: David Webster Sullivan.
The family will receive friends at the home located at 107 Oak Drive, Washington, NC.
