Mr. Billie Ray Rowe, 79, of 4880 Old Washington Road, died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Wesleyan Pentecostal Church with Pastor Daniel Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Henry C. Ward, Jr., Robby Tyer, Aaron Ward, Alex Rowe, Emily Rowe, and Amanda Smith will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. this evening at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington and other times at the home.
Mr. Rowe was born May 10, 1928 in Beaufort County. He was the son of the late Billie Matthew Rowe and Annie S. Cayton Rowe. On November 11, 1948, he married Helen April Dixon, who survives. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Rowe was retired from National Spinning Company with 18 years of service. He was exempt from the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department in Middlesex, NJ.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Dixon Rowe; one son, Billie A. Rowe of Washington; four daughters, Brenda Tyer and her husband, Robert, Jr. of Washington, Linda Horton and her husband, Thomas of Ayden, Ealine Rowe of Indianapolis, IN, and Catherine “Cathy” Smith and her husband, Anthony of Ayden; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and his special friend, Henry C. Ward, Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Willis and Donnie Fulford.
