Mrs. Lillian Amanda Bowen Soper, 94, of 250 Lover’s Lane, Washington, formerly of 300 Minuteman Lane, Washington and Silver Springs, Maryland, died Monday, May 7, 2007 at Britthaven of Washington.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Blandensburg Road, Brentwood, Maryland.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC.
Mrs. Soper was born March 24, 1913 in Tioga County, PA. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mable Etta Packer Bowen. She was married to James Wells Soper, who preceded her in death in 1991. Mrs. Soper was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joyce Tucker of Chocowinity; two grandsons, John Soper of Washington and James Soper, Jr. of Chocowinity; five great-grandchildren, April Soper, Heather Soper Cates, James Soper, III, Jason Soper and Terri Soper; and one great-great grandson, Luke James Cates.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, James Lloyd Soper, Sr. in 1979 and two sisters, Ruth B. Donachy and Addie B. Smith.
