Mrs. Gloria Gibbs Ambrose, 71, formerly of 396 Bayshore Drive, Chocowinity, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at the Beaufort County Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007 in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service with Pastor Ken Kash officiating. Entombment will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2007 at Hillside Funeral Service.
Mrs. Ambrose was born December 19, 1935 in Southampton, NY. She was the daughter of the late Thomas W. Entwistle and Marie Lucy Doino Entwistle. She was a graduate of Riverhead High School in Long Island, NY. She had been a resident of Beaufort County for approximately 40 years. She was married to Edward W. Ambrose, who survives. Mrs. Ambrose was employed in retail sales as a Tupperware Manager for many years. She was a member of Mother of Mercy Catholic Church and The Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband, Edward W. Ambrose; her children, Patricia Ann Gibbs Woolard and her husband, Marty, and Floyd Earl Gibbs, III; two brothers, Joseph Entwistle and his wife, Jane, and Thomas Entwistle, Jr. and his wife Anne; one granddaughter, Amanda Woolard Crockrell, and one great-grandaughter, Caitlyn Raine Crockrell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Earl Gibbs, Jr., one daughter Joanne Gibbs; her twin sister, Gwendolyn Entwistle and one brother, William Entwistle.
