Mr. William Thomas Wynne Sr., 69, of Williamston, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Duke University Hospital in Durham. The funeral service will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Parker officiating; burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Thomas was the son of the late Nathan and Helen Taylor Wynne. He was a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ but attended the Memorial Baptist Church. In 2000, he retired from W &B Auto Parts where he was employed for many years. After retiring from that job, he went to work full time at Cobb’s Restaurant. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
On February 10, 1957, he married Hilda Fulford Wynne who survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are son, William Thomas Wynne Jr. and wife Kathy of Williamston; brother, Taylor Wynne of Tarboro; sisters, Jean Martin of Charlotte and Talitha Clemmons of Williamsburg; grandchildren, Logan, Tayla, Davis and Gabe Wynne.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 1020 Dixie Trail. Flowers are welcome but donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Martin County Chapter of Relay for Life.
