Mrs. Mildred Cutler Ambrose, 90, of Washington, died Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Britthaven of Jacksonville.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Kent Gurganus and Mick Buchanan.
Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington, N.C.
Mrs. Ambrose’s grandsons and their cousins will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Ambrose was born in Beaufort County on September 22, 1916, daughter of the late Thomas Edward and the late Stella Congleton Cutler. She married Aubrey Wendell Ambrose on June 15, 1936 who preceded her in death on April 12, 1988. Mrs. Ambrose was a resident of Beaufort County at the time of her death. The Ambroses lived in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia prior to returning to Washington, N.C., in 1963. She was a member of Athens Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Catherine Ambrose Kastle of Jacksonville and a son, Edward Wendell Ambrose of Chocowinity; four grandsons, four step-grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2007 at Paul Funeral home of Washington and at other times at Mrs. Ambrose’s home located at 276 Camp Leach Road.
